Wordforge is a browser extension by Fabiotech that rewrites text and provides optional spelling, grammar, and sentence-clarity suggestions using an AI provider you select.

What stays in your browser

Your provider API keys, selected models, writing-check preferences, and custom action instructions are stored in this browser profile using Chrome’s local extension storage. They are not stored in Chrome Sync. API keys are accessible to trusted Wordforge extension pages and its background worker, not its page content scripts. Local storage is not a separate encrypted password vault; anyone with sufficient access to your browser profile or device may be able to access it.

Wordforge temporarily holds captured writing and suggestions in memory while you use it. Writing-check results may be retained for the current field and up to eight recently used fields in that page, with up to 64 cached results per field. Wordforge does not save a persistent writing history. Closing or refreshing the page clears its temporary state. Changing settings or pausing writing checks clears cached writing-check results.

What is sent to your AI provider

When you choose a rewrite action, Wordforge sends the captured text, the action instructions (including any custom instructions you saved), and your selected model to your chosen provider. If you have not highlighted a selection, the captured text is the current supported field’s contents.

Automatic writing checks are off by default. If you enable them, changed or unchecked sentences and nearby context are sent after you pause typing. “Check all” sends the current supported field in bounded chunks; it does not scan the entire page or other fields. Text may include personal information or personal communications depending on what you write. Avoid using Wordforge for information you do not want your selected provider to process.

Requests go directly from Wordforge’s background worker to the selected provider over HTTPS. That provider receives its own API key for authentication and normal connection information such as your IP address. Wordforge does not send browser cookies, page URLs, or browsing history with these requests.

Supported recipients are OpenAI (api.openai.com), Anthropic (api.anthropic.com), Google Gemini (generativelanguage.googleapis.com), Groq (api.groq.com), DeepSeek (api.deepseek.com), and Moonshot/Kimi (api.moonshot.cn). Only the provider selected for a request receives that request. Provider retention, training, account controls, and billing depend on your provider’s terms and account settings. Fabiotech cannot delete information already received by a provider.

What Fabiotech receives

The extension has no Fabiotech backend, analytics, advertising, or automatic reporting. Fabiotech does not receive your API keys, writing, or provider responses through the extension. We do not sell extension user data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility. Extension data is used only to deliver its writing-assistance features.

If you contact [email protected] for support, Fabiotech receives your email address and the information you choose to send. It is used to respond to your request and retained only as needed to resolve and follow up on it. You can request deletion by email. Do not send API keys or sensitive writing in support requests. Email services process support messages under their own policies.

Your controls

• Clear a provider key in Settings and save to remove that saved key. Revoke it with the provider if you also want to invalidate it.
• Turn off “Check my writing” in Settings and save to stop automatic checking across pages. “Pause on this page” stops checks for the current page until resumed or refreshed.
• Close or refresh a page to clear its in-memory writing state. Uninstall Wordforge to remove its extension-local settings from that browser profile.
• Copying a result or using a clipboard fallback writes it to your system clipboard. Clipboard history or synchronization is controlled by your operating system and browser.

Turning off checks or closing a panel cannot retract a request already sent to a provider. Restored browser-profile backups may contain older settings.

Wordforge website

The Wordforge website at wordforge.fottify.com serves static information and these policy/support pages through Cloudflare. It contains no analytics scripts, account registration, contact form or API-key entry. Cloudflare processes normal connection metadata such as IP addresses, requested URLs and user-agent information to deliver and secure the site under its service policies. Fabiotech does not use website requests to profile your extension writing. Email links open your own mail application.

Scope and changes

This policy covers the Wordforge extension. Visiting Fabiotech’s website or an external provider link makes a separate connection to that website and its hosting provider. Material changes to Wordforge’s data practices will be reflected here and disclosed within the extension when required.
